We understand that every smile is unique and so we will work with you to achieve your perfect smile.

We know the importance of building the relationship between our patients and us and to helping calm nerves so that any anxieties can be put to rest as we understand that a trip to the dentist can cause apprehension. Regular checkups are advised to complement a good daily oral health routine and to provide a preventative approach to dental issues.

We love to take the time to understand your lifestyle, any past treatments you may have had and will be able to talk through any expectations and/or concerns.

What does a check-up include?

On your first visit, we will complete the history of your health to provide us with an understanding of your individual needs. An x-ray can be invaluable for determining the current state of your jaws, for example, the position of any hidden teeth, the location of wisdom teeth, for diagnosing issues that may otherwise go unnoticed and much more, which means x-rays may be necessary to take, with your consent.

At every check-up, we will perform a full mouth examination to look at the health of the soft and hard tissues, examine your gum health as well a mouth cancer screening. Forward planning, we will tailor advice to your needs and will provide guidance to continue your journey outside the dental practice.

What are the benefits of regular check-ups?

We focus on prevention methods, as we see your teeth as incredibly valuable. With regular checkups, we will have the opportunity to stop any signs of gum disease or tooth decay sooner and work with you to keep your smile clean and bright.

The benefits?

  • To help with keeping you motivated
  • To provide you with up-to-date oral health education
  • To identify issues early
  • To prevent mouth cancer
  • To help retain your teeth
  • To help you keep a whiter smile for longer

How often should I have a check-up?

This all depends on your specific oral health needs and will vary from patient to patient.
We will be sure to give you the best advice to ensure you are given the correct recall, following the NICE guidelines.
